Bright Aluminum is clean, shiny and light (3 times lighter then steel). Aluminum is corrosion resistant and can be combined with almost all materials.
The aluminum used is a hard tempered and has a good strength. Aluminum can also be anodized in a variety of colors.
Anodized Aluminum
Brass
Brass is a gold colored metal that is an alloy of Copper and Zinc. Strength and corrosion properties are similar to yellow brass. Most brass wire you will find is soft, but the brass used for rings is 1/2 hard temper which combines strength with workability. Brass can be combined with all materials except Titanium.
Copper
Copper is a reddish colored metal that corrodes quite easily. It starts the color of a shiny new penny and can darken depending on how much it is worn. Copper is becoming more widely recognized for its effectiveness in the treatment of a number of internal diseases including anemia, cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, stroke and heart disease. Due to the soft natural of Copper it cannot be combined with many other materials.
Bronze
Bronze is a shiny, dark copper colored metal that is an alloy of Copper and Tin. If not worn regularly it tarnishes and will turn the color of a bronze sculpture or old penny. It has slightly more corrosion resistance than brass. All bronze used is 1/2 hard temper. Bronze can be combined with all materials except Titanium.
Niobium
Niobium is strong, corrosion resistant and completely hypo-allergenic. In raw wire form it is a dark silver/grey color (gun metal). Niobium is 6% heavier than steel and 22% lighter than sterling silver. Niobium can also be anodized and the colors are beautifully vibrant. Niobium can be combined with almost all materials except very soft materials.
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel is a shiny grey color that doesn't rust, is strong and clean. Stainless steel is the best balance of material properties and price. Stainless is drawn to a 125 KSI tensile strength. Stainless steel can not be combined with soft materials.
Anodized Niobium
Sterling Silver
Sterling Silver is made from 92.5% silver. A beautiful material but it does tarnish with age. It is easily restored with various cleaning methods. All sterling silver is 1/2 hard temper. Sterling silver is a softer material that should not be combined with hard materials such as Titanium and stainless steel.
Fine Silver
Fine Silver is made from 99.9% silver. Fine silver has more corrosion resistance than sterling silver. It is slightly heavier than sterling (less than 1%). Full hard temper is used for all of the fine silver rings. Silver is a soft material so it should not be combined with harder materials.
Titanium
Titaniumis a very light, extremely strong, hypo-allergenic and very corrosion resistant metal with a matte light gray finish. Titanium can be anodized before or after you make your project Titanium can also be anodized in a variety of colors. Due to the material properties Titanium can only be combined with Niobium and stainless steel.
Anodized Titanium
Gold Filled
Gold Filled 14K 1/20- jewelry, gold filled wire is made from a 14K yellow gold tube (5% by weight) filled with a half-hard temper brass. There is very little chance of wearing through the gold layer with normal use. Filled gold comes in three different colors: rose, white and yellow. Gold fill should only be combined with soft materials.
10 K Solid Gold
Solid Gold rings are yellow gold in 1/2 hard temper.
